INTRODUCTION OF POINTS OF SALE (POS) DEVICES & PROGRESSIVE MIGRATION TO CASHLESS SYSTEM FOR CONSULAR SERVICES
The Embassy hereby informs the general public of the introduction of Points of Sale (POS) machines as a progressive measure being undertaken to migrate to a cashless system.
The Embassy hereby encourages its compatriots and all stakeholders to patronise the POS devices. We further call on all to also consider using postal orders (Vaglia Postale) as modes of payments together with the PoS as we enhance our migration to a cashless system.
We further inform that as part of efforts to progressively migrate towards the cashless mode of payment for consular services, the Embassy is in discussions with its bankers for the extension of online payment facilities. Initial collaboration has not been encouraging, as we have been informed that for now the facility is not extended to diplomatic entities, however, the Embassy is still pursuing the option.
