Ambassador Merene Botsio Benyah at the 18th Venice Architecture Biennale 2023
The Ambassador of Ghana to Italy, H.E. Merene Botsio Benyah attended the 18th Venice Architecture Biennale 2023 Exhibition which was held under the theme, “The Laboratory of the Future”. The impressive programme had over half of its contributors emanating from Africa or the African Diaspora.
The curator of the exhibition was Professor Lesley Lokko, Founder & Director of the African Futures Institute. She made Ghana and the whole of Africa proud by her resilience and hard work and we are grateful for the novelty she brought to the year’s programme.
Present with the Ambassador was Mrs. Matilda Alomatu Agyeman, Deputy Head of Mission & Head of Chancery at the Ghana Embassy in Rome. Also present at the event was Nana Biamah-Ofosu a Director at the Victoria and Albert (V&A) pavilion.
Ms. Sara Asafu-Adjaye, Director of Global Administration African Futures Institute, Accra was also a formidable part of the team.
Indeed, Africa is the laboratory of the future as it is the world’s youngest continent. As I walked through the exhibition centers, I identified with the African experience whose focus was on the dual imperatives of decolonization and decarbonization.
